Renovations completed at Blackville Gardens Apartments

Wednesday, Apr 30, 2025

Blackville, SC – Community leaders, local officials, and residents gathered today to celebrate the completion of renovations at the Blackville Gardens Apartments, a vital affordable housing community in Blackville.

Originally constructed in 1983 and receiving further funding in 1997 as a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) development, Blackville Gardens Apartments consists of 24 family units across three buildings. The community serves residents earning up to 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI), continuing its mission to provide quality, affordable housing to local families.

The event marked a renewed commitment to preserving affordable housing in the area, recognizing the importance of stable, accessible homes for working families in Barnwell County.
